Honey Products

Keystone Colonies, LLC was started by Jamie Snelling (Holbrook), a seasoned beekeeper. Back in 2018, while working as an AP Biology teacher, Jamie became jaded by the boring traditional classroom instruction and searched for an idea for an outdoor learning experience for her students that aligned with College Board's Ecology Unit Big Ideas. One day her dad, while out of town, asked her to accept a FedEx package which turned out to be a professionally mated queen bee. He then FaceTimed her and walked her through the process of re-queening his beehive. She knew then that this was the experience she would provide for her students. She proposed and was granted approval to place hives on the campus of Saint Mary's Hall and designed a beekeeping unit that aligned with the required ecology learning objectives for AP Biology. It was a complete success! The class was featured on KSAT news and Jamie won 1st place Educator of Year with Texas Biomedical Research Institute based on this learning project. Six years later, as a retired teacher, beekeeping has become her passion in life and she strives to share the joy of this passion with others through her business, Keystone Colonies. We offer top of the line honey products of various flavors as well as ag exemption services for properties that range 5-20 acres in size. Keystone Colonies continues to grow and future plans consist of a beekeeping adventure themed B&B in the New Braunfels area, education services for local private institutions, large scale ag exemption services, beekeeping equipment and beehive products sales, as well as a Keystone Colonies retail store that sells honey and a variety of goods inspired by bees and honey based cooking products. We hope that you will continue to follow our evolving success and growth as we strive to become the largest and most prestigious beekeeping business in Texas.
